You can add almost any type of video, image or audio file to a Clipchamp Create editing project, and convert or compress almost any kind of video file using Clipchamp Utilities. The API accepts the same range of video formats as Utilities for uploading.

For a list of supported file formats see below.

___________

Video Files

Both Clipchamp Create and Clipchamp Utilities will accept MP4, MOV, WEBM, AVI, DIVX, FLV, 3GP, WMV, VOB, DCM and MKV video files, as well as a wide variety of video codecs. If you’re not sure if your input file is supported, simply add it and see if Clipchamp is able to recognise it.

In Create, however, some of these file types will have to be automatically converted before they can be used in your project, so you may have to wait longer for these files to load. To start working with your files faster (without waiting for conversion), we recommend adding the following kinds of supported videos to your projects.

Best video formats for Clipchamp Create:

  • .mp4 (MPEG-4)
  • .mov (Quicktime Movie File)
  • .webm

___________

Audio Files

You can add many types of audio files to a Create editing project, and they will be automatically converted so you can work with them. However, start working with your files faster (without waiting for conversion) by adding the following kinds of supported audio types to your projects:

Best audio formats for Clipchamp Create:
