To convert a video for free with Clipchamp, including our Windows output option that lets you convert video files to WMV - even on Macs, among other options, start by going to clipchamp.com and selecting the "Convert Video File" button on the front page. We recommend to access Clipchamp on a PC or Mac in the latest version of Google Chrome.
Please note that the steps to compress a video are the same as shown in here as well.
Then, log into your Clipchamp account or create a free account on the spot.
Then, select an input video from your computer.
In the next step, pick the output settings you prefer or leave the preselected default options.
As soon as you hit the "Start" button, your video gets converted. On the following "Save & Share" screen, you can save the converted video or upload it to Google Drive, Facebook, YouTube or Vimeo.
When you save a video, the default in most browsers is that the files are getting automatically saved into your Downloads folder.
Please note that the Save button might not work in Safari due to a bug in this browser. Please see here for the details around this issue and how to solve it - https://help.clipchamp.com/hc/en-us/articles/230467227-I-can-t-save-my-video-when-using-Clipchamp-in-Safari
